Commencement is almost here

So hard to believe it has been a year since we graduated. What a wonderful experience to be able to walk with my oldest daughter. Even though it took me a while to complete my degree, I am so glad that I did. IT IS NEVER TOO LATE to complete your education. Now I am working on a Masters. My degree is totally online and it requires more work than a traditional class. Turned in my final assignment for the semester last night, start my next class on Monday. I guess this keeps me out of trouble.

I need to work on a plan to so I can also continue with my photography. Set some time aside and just photograph what pleases me. Never seems to be enough hours in the day, wish I had the energy I did when I was 20.

End of Year Banquet 20101

So tonight is our End of Year Awards Banquet for the Biology and Earth Science Department. I look forward to recognizing all the hard work everyone does.

It is hard to keep the leadership and outstanding students and faculty a secret. Last year, my daughter was the outstanding biology student and believe me that was hard to keep quiet until it was announced. I was so proud of her and her accomplishments. She is at MU now doing a MPH and considering whether she wants to try med school or a physician assistant program.

So I am excited for tonight, I am stepping down as the MC and I and taking on the role of official photographer. I think all the awards look great and I hope everyone likes them.

I was looking forward to talking with everyone afterwards but I have to leave to drive to Carrollton tonight so I can go to a funeral with my mother tomorrow. Maybe next year everything will work as planned but I am not holding my breath, always seems like something comes up.

Today is the first day

So I have a friend on facebook that has this wonderful blog and I enjoy reading it so much I thought I should have a blog. So here I go on this new adventure.

I don't know how successful I will be, but you never know until you try. I could not have picked a more busier time, it is the end of a semester and I have so much to do.

But since this site was recommended to me, I am going for it. I am also going to try and post an image a day. This is the last picture I took with my grandparents. Sadly, they are no longer physically with me, but are always in my thoughts.
